The Green Mountain Golden
Retriever Club (GMGRC) is a group of Golden Retriever owners based in
Vermont, the Green Mountain State in northern New England. We are a member club of the Golden
Retriever Club of America.
Our membership hales from around the state of Vermont, as well as New
Hampshire and New York. GMGRC members agree to follow the Golden Retriever
Club of America's Code
of Ethics.
Our members, though diverse in their passions, are united in our love for
the breed and in the common goal of preserving the breed standard and unique
qualities of the Golden Retriever. Our members are active in many
activities with their Golden Retriever pets including: conformation,
field/hunting, agility, obedience, rally, tracking, breeding and therapy
work.
We have membership meetings four times a year in January, March, May &
November. After a short business meeting, the club offers a variety of
different educational programs or activities. During the summer & autumn
months we are busy with our many activities including our Working
Certificate Test (WC) & Working Certificate Excellent Test (WCX) in June,
Three Day Agility Trial in July, Annual Club Picnic (of course with our
dogs) in August, TD Tracking Test in September, Shelburne Museum Goes to the
Dogs in September and our Two Day Breed and Obedience Specialty in October.
Biannually we offer a Certificate of Conformation Assessment (CCA) Test.
When able, we also try to host health clinics for eye & heart exams. We
hope to serve and support Golden Retrievers and their owners in throughout
our region.
